Students learn how to manage a small flock of meat birds while at the Organic Farm School - to understand how much time, attention, and money goes into having such a flock, to observe the positive soil impacts from having poultry integrated into a vegetable operation, and to weigh the financial pros and cons of adding meat to a farm business. You get to benefit from their learning as well, when you purchase this pasture raised chicken (not certified organic, but raised using certified organic feed and access to fresh pasture). 

We raise the chickens in two batches, one harvested on June 27 and the second harvested on October 10.

Certainly, we will have processed birds for sale the day after each of these harvest dates, but we have learned that it’s easier on you and us if you purchase 4 birds at once in a Chicken CSA.

You get two birds from each harvest, at $126/bird. Because you pay up front, you don’t have to wait in line while we figure out a total, and if the birds are bigger than expected, you get the bonus!
