Soil health: A common focus for One Health and Planetary Health interventions

Current ‘conventional’ methods of agricultural food production are driving many environmental changes that lead to negative health outcomes. A greater understanding of soil health and its relationship to agricultural practices could help to address many of these concerns, including antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic disease emergence, food and nutrition security, and climate change. Soil health therefore offers a promising foundation for the global agendas of One Health and Planetary Health, both of which aim to support human and environmental health.
