What will your learn?

In this workshop, Drew will be discussing soil fertility and the use of compost and other sources of alternative nutrients to use as amendments for your garden soil. Topics such as the process of biochar production and its use in composting, and how to access and use mealworm frass and liquid anaerobic digestate will also be discussed. 

Who is your instructor?

Dr. Andrew (Drew) Corbin is the Director of Research for Organic Farm School. He is an agriculture and natural resources educator specializing in teaching sustainable, regenerative agriculture, especially as it relates to soil organic matter, cover crops, compost, resource recovery, reduced tillage, and organic farming.  Drew has over 30 years of experience in Agroecology and has served as a Specialist in three of the leading US Land Grant Institutions; he was agricultural faculty for Washington State University, a Michigan State University Extension Educator, and a regional specialist in Integrated Pest Management for Cornell University Extension.
