2023 Chicken CSA (Pastured Poultry but NOT certified organic)

Yes! We will have fresh pastured poultry available from three harvests this summer! All of our vegetables are certified organic through the WSDA program — We do not certify any of our livestock because we raise minimal numbers that make the administrative paperwork not cost effective for us. However all of our animal feed is certified organic, and all of our animals have access to pasture. To help us with early season expenses and to engage you as partners in the benefits and risks of raising poultry in the time of avian flu, we will be selling them as “Chicken CSA Shares.” With two harvests remaining for 2023, we have pro-rated the shares at $118, which is based on two birds per harvest, at an average weight of 4.5lbs each. If the birds are larger at harvest, you reap the benefit! If they are smaller, or there has been a reduction in flock size because of predation or illness, you experience that loss with us. We have offered such broilers for six years, always able to deliver as promised. We anticipate another good year ahead. Remaining harvest dates are: August 24, and October 12. Processed birds must be picked up within 24 hours.
